
Tim has been in the finance industry for over 25 years and has been a Certified Public Accountant since 1997. Tim founded ATON Advisors in 2010 and transitioned the firm to a virtual advisor model in 2012.
Prior to ATON, Tim was a founding partner of Strongwater Schott, a Denver-based wealth planning firm. Before establishing Strongwater Schott in 2004, Tim was a financial advisor for AXA Advisors, a firm that provides financial, retirement, business, and estate planning to a variety of clientele. Tim also spent seven years with PricewaterhouseCoopers, a worldwide advisory firm and the largest of the Big Four auditing firms, where he departed as a senior level manager in the technology practice. At PwC, Tim worked in the Audit and Business Advisory Services group, working with clients ranging from venture-financed startups to multinational corporations.
Tim graduated cum laude from the University of Northern Colorado with a Bachelor of Science in accounting. At UNC, Tim was a four-year letterman on the varsity football team. He has served on the University of Northern Colorado Foundation Investment Committee, the UNC Accounting Department Advisory Board, Holy Name Catholic Church Pastoral Council and the Lowry Community Master Association Board of Directors. He is currently a high school football coach and previously coached youth football, baseball and soccer. Tim lives in Steamboat Springs with his wife Kristin and their three children, Riley, Ben, and Ryan.
